Cadets’ coin drive shows a little goes a long way

The 637 Arrow Squadron Air Cadets from South Burnaby presented Dreams Take Flight Vancouver President Melissa Hance with a cheque for $500, all from collecting coins. A coin drive, led by Sgt. Gabriel Devries, resulted in the generous donation which will go towards sponsoring a child to Disneyland this year.

The money was raised by the cadets bringing in spare change from home or from friends and family. The South Burnaby Squadron has more than 150 young people between the ages of 12 and 18 years old who participate in training and activities designed to promote strong community minded citizens and leaders. Like Dreams Take Flight, their goal is to provide experiences of a lifetime for all young people who come through their doors.

We would like to thank the South Burnaby Squadron and the great group of young individuals working in our community, showing us that when you come together for a common goal, a little truly does go a long way!
